short seminars

Short seminars designed to get the message across effectively.

Time Management

The purpose of this seminar is to provide a change in thinking. There is no quick fix solution. The thinking has to change from "I don’t have time" to "what must I fit in". There are 24 hours in a day and it may be nice to have more, but it is finite, just like our income (whatever the amount).

Managing Contractor Risk

This seminar looks at two key issues associated with contractor management:

  • What is a contractor, and when does a contractor become an employee? Sometimes an arrangement that starts as a contracting arrangement may become an employment arrangement - this has major implications on your responsibilities and obligations.
  • The Health and safety in Employment Act places obligations on those who engage contractors to manage contractor safety. How do you do that in practice?  This seminar outlines the actions you can take to take "all practicable steps" in relation to contractor safety.

Managing Stress In The Workplace

Stress in the workplace is a concern for all workplaces. It is not a new concept, nor will it be removed entirely from the workplace. All work has a degree of stress related to it. There is however, a growing awareness of the effects stress can have on individuals and organisations. Stress can affect health, reduce productivity, drain resources, and has legal implications for the employer and managers.

Managing Incompatibility in the Workplace

Incompatibility in the workplace can be one of the most difficult situations for an employer to deal with. This seminar examines what exactly incompatibility is, what the courts have had to say as to how best to deal with it, and practical information on strategies for managing and preventing incompatibility in the workplace.

A Knowledge Workout with Bruce Sullivan

The world appears to be out of control. Ever since Noah started counting the days until he could improve his lifestyle by getting off the Ark, mankind has wrestled with the interaction between work and lifestyle. The common dilemma: “In order to advance my career I have to be seen to be putting-in”. The trade-off: “An immediate impact on my lifestyle.” So what’s the answer? In this high-impact seminar, Bruce Sullivan will show you how to solve this conundrum.
