    THE PLAN AHEAD

    business_continuity3
Just glance at the headlines – from power outages to floods, security breaches to earthquakes, striking workforces to major technology collapse.  Events such as these are not uncommon in today’s world.

If any of these were to strike your business, would you be able to recover quickly and carry on?
Would you be able to maintain critical business processes without dropping the ball?

If not properly managed, a disruptive event can quickly escalate into an emergency, crisis or even a disaster.  In fact, how well a situation is managed may have greater consequences for the organisation than the original incident.

The Plan Ahead – Business Continuity Conference 2012 will show you how to minimise the effect of such events on your organisation and how to prepare your business to survive.

You will hear from experts, policy makers, and practitioners as well as those who have experienced major disruptions to their operations first hand and have successfully made it through to the other side.

A major incident could happen at any time.  Are you ready?  Will you make it through?

Register now to take advantage of our special Early Bird Rates*.

    Ian Forrester, Managing Director, Plan-b

11.20am – 12.00pm  Business Continuity During Strikes and Lockouts

While not all businesses have collective bargaining, and less have to manage industrial action, there are some practical lessons that can be applied to many other situations where business continuity is at risk.
Angela Walker will discuss what businesses facing industrial action do to maintain business continuity, including contingency planning; dealing with the media and public interest; managing pickets; working with the employees who are not taking industrial action; and practical business solutions to a withdrawal of labour.
    Angela Walker, EMA Employer Services
