Understanding Risk-taking Behaviour
Given the vast improvements in safety management interventions and safety technology over the last century, continuous, visible improvements in injury rates should be clearly evident – but this hasn’t always proven to be the case.
This 1-day workshop will examine, in detail, the latest theories around risk-taking behaviour (and human error) in the workplace, and look at strategies to manage the “human factor” in safety.
The workshop will work towards developing a model – based on cognitive psychology – where the focus is on the ‘cognition’ (understanding) of risk in the workplace, and the accompanying psychological processes required for full understanding.
