Managing Rehabilitation and ACC

ACC provides cover for work and non work injuries, however incapacity due to injury or illness raises a number of issues for employers.  This workshop covers how to manage the issues that can arise from incapacity due to injury or illness including:

  • Can I get a second medical opinion if I have reservations about a medical certificate?
  • What is best practice when getting an employee back to work or on alternate duties?
  • How long do I need to keep a job open if an employee is off work long term?
  • How can I challenge an ACC claim if I believe the injury did not occur at my workplace?
  • What does ACC actually cover?

The introduction of experience rating also incentivises employers to be proactive with return to work options for injured staff
This workshop is designed to give employers a good understanding of ACC legislation and the claims process for injured employees.  It will help employers understand best practice in return to work and rehabilitation and the important role of early return to work in order to reduce ACC costs and increase productivity.

Course participants are provided with a number of templates to assist in the development of a rehabilitation programme to complement their Occupational Health and Safety system.  These templates can be customised to suit the needs of the individual business, with or without an ECCC Consultant’s assistance.

The course has been designed to help those employers who wish to develop or update systems in order to manage ACC and absence.
Your ACC employer levies will be impacted by your previous and ongoing ACC work related claims experience.  Join us for an update on what this means for you, and what you can do about it.
